    "Online shopping hurts stores"

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Gymboree part-time

    Pros

    Decent pay
    Not too physically demanding

    Cons

The MASSIVE amount of online returns. My particular location got slammed every day with returns, nearly a quarter of our daily sales were lost to this behavior. Buying two sizes of everything and returning half, buying 3-4 sets of holiday photo outfits and returning ALL of them because "they didn't work out". They won't even hear of exchanging their items.

Cartoons/music loops every 45min and stores only get 4 CDs a year. We had to turn off the music and claim our TV was out of order for the last week or two of the fiscal quarter because it was driving us adult employees insane.

Cheap customers that only shop clearance and clog up our inventory. They only shop regular price when it's a $16.99 sale.

    Advice to Management

Put another location in the Charlotte area to remedy the problems caused by closing South Park. Your stores at Carolina Place and Northlake are seriously hurt by this.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Gymboree.

    Interview

I am typically very nervous during interviews. For this job there were two interviews. The first was at the mall. The manager made me feel very comfortable and didn't ask any questions I wasn't expecting. The second interview was over the phone due to poor weather conditions. It Was the most relaxed interview ever! I felt like I was having a conversation with a friend. The DMX gave examples when asking questions so there was no ambiguity as to what she was asking of me.
