Company Updates

  • October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and H-E-B invites Texas students to join the H-E-B Buddy League, challenging them to “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.” Inspired by H-E-B’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the effort promotes kindness and respect and discourages harmful behaviors such as teasing, exclusion and bullying.
In its third year, the H-E-B Buddy League kicked off a statewide tour of the H-E-B Buddy League Training Academy. Using song and animation, the live show takes students through five training tasks that demonstrate bullying behaviors and show ways to stand up to bullying and promote unity. The live performance hit the road and will stop at 27 elementary schools across Texas throughout the month.

H E B – Why Work For Us?

One Company—Multiple Careers

We believe in the value of hard work and the importance of taking care of people. We've always dreamed big, hire great people, offer Customers the best service and sell only the freshest, safest products. We continuously look for great innovative products that distinguish us from our competitors, and make sure to give Customers low prices with the best value.

A job at H‑E‑B is an opportunity for a rewarding, never boring, career. An opportunity to utilize your talent and strengths to innovate and make a difference. An opportunity to be a part of a company and culture so unique, it earned the "Best Place to Work" award on Glassdoor. With unlimited possibilities, H‑E‑B offers everyone from the college intern to the seasoned professional more than just a job—we offer an opportunity to build a career you love.

Our Values

Service:

At H-E-B, we believe grocery shopping is more than an errand. That’s why it’s our pledge to always go above and beyond. Here, we think like the customer, not about the customer.

Heart:

People matter. Here, people are at the heart of every decision made and everything we do – no store cares more.

Drive:

Competition drives us, but collaboration defines us. A shared spirit drives us to work together and build a company that doesn’t just meet the Customer’s needs, it exceeds them.

Innovation:

We’re continuously searching for ways to serve our Partners, Customers, and Communities better and make their lives easier. Here, we are relentlessly dissatisfied with the present.

Community:

We make it a priority to get involved and make a difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors, because we believe communities should be better off by us having been there.

Commitment:

Here, we don’t need an audience to act with integrity. Because we believe you don’t need permission to do the right thing.

H-E-B's Spirit of Giving

We're in the people business. We just happen to sell groceries.

For more than 100 years, our commitment and involvement in the community has been an important part of the way we do business. We're proud to support initiatives like the H‑E‑B Food Bank Assistance Program, our annual Feast of Sharing holiday dinners, and the Spirit of H‑E‑B trailer that provides on‑site relief in areas devastated by natural disasters.

It's our way of saying thank you for allowing us to be your neighbor. We call it H‑E‑B's Spirit of Giving. In this spirit, we have contributed five percent of pre‑tax earnings to public and charitable programs since the 1930s.

Learn more about how we give back here.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We’re committed to protecting and providing the best Texas has to offer. Our facilities are designed to save energy and reuse materials, we’re reducing harmful pollutants and conserving natural resources, and we’ve been recognized as one of the best in the U.S. for safety and emission reductions.

We believe that our work to care for the environment not only makes us better neighbors—it helps us serve you better. By being energy efficient and conserving natural resources, we're not only helping the planet, we're also creating savings we can pass on to you in the form of everyday low prices.
