I have been working at Hakim Optical full-time (Less than a year)
Great colleagues and teams, very cool area manager in BC. We usually have enough time to spend with every customer so that we make sure he/she gets the best solution, which is why we have a lot of repeat customers. Great place to start an optical career, managers encourage you to learn/ train and go to school to become an optician.
Stores schedule from 10 to 7 leaves little room for other activities. Very hard for people with family.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Hakim Optical (Vancouver, BC (Canada)) in July 2016.
Standard interview with 2 parts:
1. I had to describe my previous relevant experience in customer service.
2. The area manager explained in details what the job is about.
She decided at the end o the interview that I am a good fit for the job and gave me some material on optics that I had to learn and take an exam before hiring. 2 weeks later I gave the test and succeeded, so I was hired in another 2 weeks.
