WHAT WE BELIEVE AND WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
Harbor Freight Tools isn’t your typical retailer. We believe that our People, Products and Principles are what make us special and unique and we are committed to providing hard-working people with great quality tools at the lowest prices.
OUR CORE PRINCIPLES
Excellence in Execution – We succeed by staying focused, getting things done and sweating the details.
Continuous Improvement – We constantly strive to improve.
Collaboration – We find solutions as a team.
Doing the Right Thing – We treat everyone fairly, reasonably and with respect.
Humility – We keep our egos in check.
Frugality – We spend every dollar wisely.
Community – We believe in giving back.
Harbor Freight Tools believes in supporting the communities where we live and work through monetary donations, our tools and through company-sponsored volunteer efforts led by our awesome Harbor Freight associates.
The Harbor Freight Tools Associate Emergency Relief Fund is a charitable organization providing emergency assistance to associates of HFT and their families who require financial assistance due to a catastrophic event or a personal crisis.
Harbor Freight made an initial contribution to open the Fund and currently matches associate contributions on a two-for-one dollar basis. One of Harbor Freight's core principles is “Community,” which means that we believe in giving back, and that is why we encourage each of our associates to give what they can to help those in need.

I have been working at Harbor Freight Tools full-time (Less than a year)
Harbor Freight is growing fast. There is so much opportunity to move up in this company and rapidly at that. Great benefits with price match and the quality of management is good as well.
I haven't found one yet other than not being taught fast enough.
Advice to Management
Keep it up. Not everyone is the same so timeline you may think they should be on may be to slow for them.
I applied online. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Harbor Freight Tools (Pittsburgh, PA) in September 2016.
As an older, more experienced job applicant I had applied for a Sales Associate position with HFT. Within one week I was asked to come in for an interview. When I interview, I am always well groomed, wearing a suit regardless of the position and act in the highest capacity for a prospective candidate. I prepare for the interview by researching the Company, having a list of potential questions to ask the Interviewer, a well thought out "Tell me about yourself" reply, why are you making this employment change, etc.. During the interview, I was informed the position I applied for was only part-time, as they try to promote from within. The Store Manager and I spoke about my experiences, strengths, and hope for a career with HFT. Based on our conversation I was offered a higher paying and more substantial leadership opportunity as a Logistics Senior Associate with the opportunity to transfer to a new store opening soon less than 2 miles from my house. The interview took approximately 1 hour after which he submitted my info for a background check. Due to the District Manager being out of the country for 2 weeks was the hold-up for an offer. In the meantime, the Store Manager and I had several very encouraging phone conversations. I received my offer and within 15 minutes the Store Manager had called to check if I had received the email offer. He exclaimed to me the advancement opportunities were abundant. I will be starting my NEW Career with HFT next week!!!
I was able to negotiate a higher position and pay.
