Pros
I appreciate the time that we as staff take to help others of different situations. There are not only young autistic children to be cared for but also adults going through mental crisis, PTSD, depression, psychosis, and plenty other health issues. I work full time and enjoy it every day even when the patients may not be in the best of moods. As a Harbor Oaks employee who works with patients going through things mentally or physically outside or even also inside the hospital, it is rewarding I feel for both the patient and myself to see improvements and help them work through these challenges. I love my job and am very proud to be a part of this hospital
Cons
There are days when patients are very upset and sometimes defiant to a point that leads to yelling, screaming, and aggression. I am well prepared to handle all these situations and am CPI and CPR certified for over three years now. As an employee it is sometimes difficult to see the patients struggling and not able to accept the help or not comfortable accepting it at first. Although it is sometimes difficult, I am still very proud and happy to help during these situations and assist any way that i can.
