I have been working at Harkins Theatre part-time (Less than a year)
You get to meet so many new people. It's a great first job as well! As long as you're doing what you're supposed to when you're an usher, at door, box, or at concession then it should work out. It's really easy and if you do your job right then the faster they'll move you up. Money is also great too especially when you first get hired and once you reach concession.
Some managers don't really interact with the team members. When you get hired you don't know any of their names or anything. It would be nice if they smiled at you at least. It's also hard to understand how some team leaders actually become team leaders. Some are very lazy and don't help out. Others are very childish too.
Advice to Management
Management wants their employees to communicate with them but if you could smile and interact with us at least a little bit, maybe more people would communicate and make the work environment even better.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Harkins Theatre.
Received phone interview with HR coordinator and HR Manager went in for interview with hiring managers. On-site interview started well, but unprofessional actions from the hiring managers; such as mocking and belittling my work and experience. Never been so disrespected in my life during and interview. I was able to stay professional and get through the interview. Declined to continue in the interview process; due to their management. I wish them luck and success, but their management style needs to change. You need to show respect to your employees and potential employees.
