I have been working at Harmar full-time (More than 3 years)
Very casual dress policy, and this place is not hardcore about start times. One day you can come at 7:45 AM, and the next 8:30 or even 9:00 AM. Just make sure you do your work. Lunches can be as short or as long as you need them, of course within reason. You can have a long lunch. If you feel like. Just don't do it everyday.
There's ice cream day. Nice treat. Thanks management for that.
The company is poorly managed. Pay is not competitive. (But flexibility makes up for some of it). Very tight working quarters, and not the best equipment to perform your duties. The CRM (salesforce) is all web based, and the internet service is down or slow many times during the day. Making it nearly impossible to accomplish your tasks. Very frustrating. The volume of duties and call received is crazy, and almost call center like, yet you also have a lot of other things to do, that require concentration. But the amount of calls makes concentrating nearly impossible. Stress level is raging. Some employees are flat out useless, and that adds to your workload. HR is a joke. Senior management is a mix bag of surprises. Some are very capable and knowledgable, while some are just focused on their work. Thus ignoring all the issues surrounding their employees. Can be very hostile environment at times.
Raises? Not at Harmar. Profit sharing? That was a thing of the past. Been about a year since a profit sharing has been paid. Work load is more than twice of what it was a year or two ago. Pay is the same.
Parking is horrible. You'll end up parking on the street. Very unsafe for you and your car.
I'm sure it could be worst too.
Overall. This place is better than many places. It just needs better management.
Advice to Management
Get a reliable internet service provider, clean, useful equipment, outside sitting areas (that are NOT smoking) and are not all the way in the back of the plant, on a dirty dusty lot. There's no place to enjoy your lunch outside, or to simply enjoy your break out on fresh air.
Having rats, and bugs flying around all the time is NOT fun. Let's not mention how unhealthy it is. Please do something.
Parking is a nightmare, please address that.
Stop buying refurbished rubbish as office furniture. Looks like we work in the Goodwill.
Stop with the silly town hall meetings and fix the darn building, the 2 bathrooms will be a good start. Yes, only 2 for a million employees. Stinks... Literally.
I am sure there's lot more. But you get the point.
