Hawkins is a formulator, manufacturer, blender, distributor, and sales agent for thousands of industrial chemicals and reagent grade laboratory chemicals sold to municipalities and businesses throughout the Central United States.

Geographic Range

Hawkins is headquartered in Roseville, Minnesota. Our facilities are located throughout the Central United States and receive, store, distribute and, in some cases, manufacture products. 

Delivery

Hawkins operates a fleet of trucks, trailers, tankers and tractors from our extensive warehouse facilities. The Hawkins delivery network, including our branch facilities, allows us to respond to special needs and requirements of our customers throughout our large delivery area.

Customer Service. Hawkins works to provide the best service possible – where it’s arranging for a holiday delivery, making arrangements for rare products, or simply just delivering on time every time. Many of our customers have been with Hawkins for more than 20 years.

Hawkins is organized into three business segments.

  • Industrial Segment. The Industrial Group specializes in providing industrial chemicals, products and services to industries such as agriculture, chemical processing, electronics, energy, food, pharmaceutical, plating and power generation. This group’s principal products are acids, alkalis and industrial and food-grade salts. 
  • Water Treatment Segment. The Water Treatment Group specializes in providing chemicals, equipment and solutions for potable water, municipal and industrial wastewater, industrial process water and non-residential swimming pool water. This group has the resources and flexibility to treat systems ranging in size from a single small well to a multi-million-gallon-per-day facility.   
  • Health and Nutrition Segment. The Health and Nutrition segment was established in December 2015 through the acquisition of Stauber Performance Ingredients. The Health and Nutrition Group specializes in providing ingredient distribution, processing and formulation solutions to manufacturers of nutraceutical, functional food and beverage, personal care, dietary supplement and other nutritional food and health and wellness products. This group offers a diverse product portfolio including minerals, botanicals and herbs, vitamins and amino acids, excipients, joint products, sweeteners and enzymes.

The Hawkins Water Treatment Group provides chemicals, equipment and solutions for drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater, industrial process water, and non-residential swimming pool water.  

Our Technical Route Sales Representatives work long days servicing their territory in this fast-paced, physical, indoor/outdoor position, and they take a lot of pride in their work.  They help their customers solve problems and provide solutions.  In addition, the sales reps:

  • deliver chemicals to municipal, community, agricultural, commercial and industrial customers
  • manage customer accounts and process orders
  • call on prospective new customers
  • assist with troubleshooting technical issues with products or equipment.

This job provides an exciting career opportunity all by itself, with significant opportunity to increase earning potential.  In addition, this position could be a stepping stone leading to promotional opportunities.  Hawkins has a strong history of promoting from within.  In fact, most of Hawkins Water Treatment Managers have come from within the ranks.

This position offers a lot of pluses and benefits:

  • Regular Monday through Friday schedule.  Routes may include an overnight, but weekends/holidays are almost never required.
  • Paid training, excellent insurance benefits and retirement programs, and opportunity for for pay increases with commission eligibility.

    The interview was very relaxed, very general HR type interview questions on how you work with people. Asked how I work with prolonged times of sitting. The job did include a lot of sitting, which as a previous lab tech was a bit of a shock.
