OUR FOUNDATION

From the very beginning, our focus has been on fueling growth in the communities in which we build.

It all started in 1989, when Robert Watson and his wife Virginia moved to Redmond, a small town of 3,700 in rural Central Oregon. Armed with years of experience in both land development and real estate finance, Bob quickly became an active member of the community. It wasn’t long before the Mayor of Redmond approached Bob about building homes that hardworking families could afford to foster growth in this small city; Hayden Homes was born. A few years later, after graduating from college, Bob’s son Hayden Watson and Hayden’s high school friend Dennis Murphy joined him as apprentices. Working, side by side with Bob to learn the business eventually led these two men to earn the primary leadership positions in the company. Today, we honor Bob and Virginia’s spirit of generosity through our actions and belief that giving more than you get should be the norm.

At Hayden Homes, we provide college students the opportunity to utilize the education and skills learned in the classroom and apply it to the real-world in an environment that is collaborative, team-centric, and has an execution oriented culture focused on delivery. Our interns work alongside and under the supervision of our professional project managers and will also have interaction with team members in customer service, our sales department and our trade partners.

Our summer internships are structured as paid, entry-level positions that expose interns to many applicable skills and build proficiencies in the life cycle of home building.  We look for motivated college students who are interested in going the extra mile and who have a strong work ethic.

    I love working with Hayden Homes because of all the positive satisfaction that comes with it. Meeting with homeowners before, during, and after the build makes delivering the final product that much more rewarding.     I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Hayden Homes (Redmond, OR) in May 2019.

    Interview

    I had 4 different interviews. The first was a phone interview with HR, then a face to face with the Production Manager, then a face to face with the Operations Manager, then another face to face with the Production team. I learned a lot about the company during the process and am very happy with my decision to accept an offer to work for Simplicity by Hayden Homes.
