“Well it’s a great starting point for a sales career. I came into this with no specific sales experience and it’s given me the chance to learn the fundamentals and grow a lot. I also get to work with both the Sales and Marketing teams which is great.
The team is incredibly supportive, they will take time out of their days, their calls, to answer questions and help solve problems. We have a lot a friendly competition, but it’s never in a way that brings you down. It’s always fun and helps you grow, we’re always pushing each other to be better.
There is also a ton of opportunity and everyone really wants you to succeed. I’ve been here less than a year and I just got promoted, that’s awesome! You really get the chance to take control of your own career. And the whole team is behind me and very supportive of the transition.”
What’s the best part about working at HealthcareSource?
“To start it’s a great company with a great mission. We’re all going to be a patient, or know someone in a hospital at some point. We’re working to help make that better. Everything is very visible and accessible too. We have meetings with the CEO…it’s definitely a bigger company that feels like a start-up. Oh, and the Live IT team that’s dedicated to making the culture even better. It really shows that the company values every employee and is dedicated to making this a great place.
There’s also a work-life balance, everyone here realizes we’re human and have lives outside of work.”
What was the most challenging part of starting the MBDR role?
“Time management I guess. Dave, my manager, is here for support and guidance, but he doesn’t micromanage. You have to be able to sit down and know ‘here are my calls, here’s what it’s going to take to be successful’ and do it.”
But what’s your #1 favorite thing?
“The people and the culture. We like to be around each other…we have events and people actually show up and enjoy hanging out. Like we were here late on Friday just hanging out at the keg.”
Tell us about being an MBDR at HealthcareSource?
“I’m close to the start of my sales experience, and I’ve learned a ton in this role about how to have those conversations. How to speak with the customers, find their needs, evaluate their challenges, and help alleviate their problems from a healthcare talent management perspective.
I’ve also learned how to better engage the customer and have a real conversation.”
What made you decide to work at HealthcareSource?
“Honestly when I first came here I was impressed by the office space. It’s a great environment: fresh, brand new, and I could see colleagues collaborating across departments. Colleagues know each other by name, you’re definably not a number here.
Also, the business we’re in is in high demand. The healthcare Talent Management and HCM space is growing and it’s a great opportunity to start a long and prosperous career. The compensation is great, benefits, 401k and so forth. And the events we have; I really appreciate the work they put into those. Paint night was great and the St. Patrick’s Day celebration we just had was a blast.”
What was the most challenging thing starting out?
“It was a pretty smooth transition actually. The hardest part I think, and this happens everywhere, was just learning the products: the functionality of each product and the business issues they address. Everyone was really welcoming though, I’ve made friends and professional connections very quickly.”
What’s your #1 favorite thing about being an MBDR?
“Well the job number one, I really like sales! It’s also exciting to be a part of a company on the rise with a great future. Everyone wants to be here and wants to contribute, you can tell. There’s just this buzz around the office.”

What’s so unique about our benefits package?
This company is really doing some great things. We are growing at a great pace and the leadership seems to be implementing growth tactics. I think JP is a fantastic CEO. He is very approachable, and seems very genuine when he talks, and communicates the company's strategy well. I think the company is in really good hands with him. The culture here is fantastic, there are always events happening, and people know how to let loose when they are off the clock. Having videos games, food, drinks, makes me feel like I can actually stay at work after hours instead of rushing home. This is a great place to work!
I wish we were able to connect and interact with other departments more. I feel like I don't know a ton of people and want to see more of the HealthcareSource culture throughout. Groups that don't really work closely with one another are often distant. I don't see a ton of employees interacting with others outside of their departments. It would be great to see some more integration.
Advice to Management
Perhaps having events with a couple of departments interacting. Build some more workplace chemistry. Perhaps lunches with two teams that don't really work with one another. Or other ways to meet new people within the company. Don't know how realistic this is, but it would be great!
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at HealthcareSource (Woburn, MA).
After applying I was emailed by a talent acquisition specialist to schedule a phone screening, which was relatively brief and mostly informational about the role/company. From there I was asked to complete a code test online before going into the office to interview with the engineering manager. Overall, it was a smooth/positive interview process.
