I have been working at Healthy Spot part-time (Less than a year)

The best part of being an ambassador is the dogs you get to interact with when doing outreach Maltese, German Shepard, Rottweilers, etc. Not just that but the interesting stories that come from the parents on how they meet their companion. Either through a rescue, a pound, best friend hand me down, you name it. That dynamic alone, dog and parent, is worth being an ambassador.

My ambassador co-works are all very personable, kind, helpful, cheerful, to name a few. I never get the sense that I shouldn't ask for help when I need it because i'm afraid I might be shamed for it. On the contrary I'm encouraged to ask for help with something I'm not familiar with, which is pretty darn cool.

Being employed by Healthy Spot also means that your able to receive interesting perks. The most noticeable is the in store discount, some items being almost reduced by half! Helpful, on the wallet, if your thinking of transitioning your pets into a healthier diet.

As a current student the flexibility of working with Healthy Spot is fantastic. I'm able to schedule myself to my needs, of course sometimes I'm required to attend certain schedules but those are few and far between.

There are not many cons in my opinion, but there is a lot of information that is going to be thrown at you when on boarding. Types of meals, what those meals contain, what meals are beneficial for the current state of a dog, how often to feed those meals, different branded meals, etc. It will be daunting at first but as time goes on through events and outreach you'll get familiar with the many products.

If you're shy and timid, this'll be a difficult transition for you. Being an ambassador requires you to talk to people, be approachable, out going. If you're a person whom loves and audience, or trying to get better at it, if you're not being an ambassador is going to be a challenge.

This position is definitely geared towards those whom are looking for a little bit more income, has extra time on their hands, or a student looking for a job. Not towards a person looking for a stable 9 to 5, 40 hours a week kinda person.

Overall, a great company to be apart of, I'm glad I was hired!

Getting an Interview

    Assistant Retail Manager Interview

Anonymous Employee in Culver City, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Healthy Spot (Culver City, CA) in October 2017.

The interview consists of two parts, phone interview and in person interview. I did my interview with Jenny H. she was amazing. She really made an effort to get to know me and facilitated casual conversation. This was unlike any other interview I've had not only did I feel confident and comfortably I believe Jenny did an amazing job articulating the company's values, culture etc. It was about an hour long. After getting to know me she asked me about my past experience, briefly on my future goals and what I would see myself doing at Healthy Spot. I was offered an in person interview at their Head Quarters with the Area Manager for the location I was applying to. Similar to my phone interview it began with casual conversation and getting to know one another and I was asked questions about my experiences both in previous jobs and education. I felt that Healthy Spot was a great match for me and I think so did my interviewers because I received the offer later in the day via phone call.
