    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Heart English School part-time

    Pros

Easy to get a work visa. My manager in Tokyo was honest and kind.

    Cons

Offered a full time position via a Skype interview while still in my home country. Only when I finished two days of training at the headquarters in Mito, Ibaraki did I find out I was only going to be offered a part time position. I was lied to and bullied by the management in Mito on several occasions. Luckily, I kept records of every email and conversation so that when unsubstantiated threats did occur, I was able to defend myself on every occasion. Others were not so lucky. It is worth noting that the company was kicked out of the 23 special wards in Tokyo the year I left.

    Advice to Management

Honesty pays in the long run. I've been with my current employer for 4 years now because I can trust them to have my back.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Heart English School.

    Interview

I submitted my application online. We exchanged a few emails. They did not show up to our Skype interview. I was online early and stayed an hour longer in case there was a time zone miscommunication. I sent a few messages. I received an email the next day. I declined to reschedule. This showed me that they do not value other people's time.
