Ronnie Naizer, RN of Orthopedics (P6) has been a part of the Hendrick team since 1991 when he began work as a Patient Care Technician during nursing school. 

Ronnie believes Hendrick is “the centerpiece of, not only Abilene, but of the Big Country. I know that when I recommend Hendrick to an individual seeking medical care, the staff will treat them with the best care they can get. That has been the expectation set for us. We are proud that the bar is set so high, and we are able to reach and exceed it daily.”

When asked what he loves about Hendrick, Ronnie replied, “This is an easy one…the employees. The family of Hendrick Medical Center from every department makes it so easy to work here. Hendrick has always made me feel special.  I’m made to feel that I mean something to Hendrick and that I count!”

When she moved to Abilene in 2008, Heather Hess began a job search which led her to Hendrick. An experienced OR RN, Heather instantly knew Hendrick was a perfect fit for her. After starting as a circulator, Heather has progressed up the ranks from neurosurgery coordinator to OR supervisor and most recently to OR nurse manager in August of 2017.

“I love the atmosphere (at Hendrick), the people I get to work with every day and the technological advances in the OR,” Heather stated. “Every day, I enjoy waking up and coming to work at Hendrick. I have a feeling of contentment here,” she continued. “That contentment and the family atmosphere always reinforces the feeling that I belong at Hendrick.”

As an OR nurse of 19 years, Heather knows firsthand the challenges and demands of the operating room, recognizing the extreme teamwork required to make each day run smoothly. Her desire as nurse manager is to be able to convey her appreciation to the OR staff for the excellent care they provide every single day.

Paid Leave

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) is a flexible benefit plan combining traditional days off such as vacation, holidays and sick time into one program.  All employees classified as full-time who have completed 90 days of continuous employment are eligible for PTO.

Board certified and board eligible physicians needed to practice at the largest regional medical center within a 150 mile radius.  Practicing and experienced physicians as well as fellows will be considered.     I have been working at Hendrick Health System full-time (More than 5 years)


    Family and Christian value oriented company. Great benefits and retirement options. Hendrick is always looking for ways to improve employee education and resources, whether at work or at home. I love the family atmosphere here and I haven't worked anywhere else where I felt like my superiors truly cared about me as a person.


    None that I can think of. Out of all the places in Abilene to work, I truly believe Hendrick Health System is the best!
