I have been working at Henrico County, VA full-time
Highest paying county in the area, good people within the organization
Very high caseloads, always short-staffed as high salary attracts workers from other localities and they can't keep up with the workload-end up resigning, when you take off your work piles up until you return
Advice to Management
Higher more people, reward those who stay, be proactive instead of reactive
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Henrico County, VA (Richmond, VA).
panel interview of five, general interview questions, the interview started late, panel seemed unorganized and unprofessional, when it was my turn to ask questions the panel members were all answering at the same time, and some answers were contradictory, it was very confusing. If I hadn't been out of work for such a long period, I probably wouldn't have accepted the job. It was not a positive first impression.
