To ensure the integrity of our products, we run our own production plants and cutting-edge research and development centers right across the world and in North America. Our head office is in Schaan in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where Martin Hilti established the company 75 years ago.

    I have been working at Hilti North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The culture is a strong mix of traditional and modern, as a millennial I never feel stifled, but get the opportunity to work with people from all generations who are comfortable and able to find success.
    They are very committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop in the way they want to, giving many systematic opportunities to give your voice and guide your own career path.
    As a privately held company, initiatives are very long term driven, no reporting to shareholders on a quarter by quarter basis.

    Cons

    The drive to succeed is so ingrained that it may be difficult for someone who wants to start a career and not move around.
    Limited locations by department. Sales opportunities in every corner of the world, other departments are much more limited unless you are looking outside the US.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to focus on the individuals. Develop people and give them every chance to succeed you can. The people here make the difference.

    I applied online. I interviewed at Hilti North America.

    Interview

    Submitted resume online, was asked to schedule a phone interview a month later, two weeks later I was flown to Texas for interviews with team members. One of those interviews was in person and the other was a Skype interview. My computer stopped working during the Skype interview and then it was cut short which was extremely frustrating because I did not get the same opportunity as the other two candidates who were interviewing with me.
