    Help Desk Support Specialist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Landisville, PA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hire Velocity (Landisville, PA).

Received an email on Jan 7th to set up a phone interview. Set up the interview for the next day Jan 8th at 11 o'clock.

On Tuesday Jan 8th at 11:01 I received a cancellation email due to a "last minute meeting."

Rescheduled for that Friday the 11th at noon.

On Friday the 11th at noon I waited for 15 minutes without any call or email. Called up the company that I was applying for "Wind River Environmental" and the initial person answering never heard of the person interviewing me.

Spoke to HR who advised me that the interviewer was with a recruiting company at "Hire Velocity" and I should just email her to see what was going on.

I emailed the interviewer and received no response. Sent another email on Monday to ask if the position was filled. I was told they were going to check with the company and let me know.

Didn't receive an answer back that day, nor on Tuesday.

Then on Wednesday the 16th I received a random text from the recruiter(why a text?) asking me if I had time for a phone interview that day at noon which was about 1 hour from then.

The phone interview went well. I was advised there were only 2 locations in Pennsylvania that I would need to travel. Both of which are fairly close. Everything else about the job seemed great. It really perked my interest. Got a second phone interview with HR on Tues. the 22nd of January.

The first phone interview interested me so much that when I received a job offer that same day from another company, I told them I couldn't start Monday because I wanted to follow through with this company, Wind River.

On Tues the 22nd during the interview with HR I am finally told that there are several location in New Jersey, New York, and Delaware that would need to be traveled too.

Then on top of that I would need to fly out to Boston, MA for 2 weeks for training.

How did the recruiter at Hire Velocity not know the most pertinent information? How does a company not tell you that you need to be in a city over 350 miles away from home for several weeks for a "Help Desk Support Specialist" title. Sure let me just drop everything and fly out to Boston for $22 an hour.

Not even the company "Wind River Environmental" managed to tell about this in their job description.

Both Companies are a huge waste of everyone's time.

"And you'll need to be in Boston for several weeks for training"

"Did you just say Boston? for several weeks?"

"Yeah, is that going to be an issue?"

    "No duh"

"Well it's mandatory so I guess we'll leave it at that"

Yes. Lets leave it at 2 weeks of my wasted time.

    Fire yourself, you truly suck.
