Mission: We’re on a mission to help get everyone a job they love. Find the job you love here at Hired!
Hired is building the first two-sided marketplace created specifically for Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, Product Managers and Sales Professionals who are overwhelmed with job opportunities.
We believe finding a career should be transparent, unbiased, and controlled by the talent. Our marketplace features vetted and funded companies extending an interview request, a dedicated Talent Advocate, and a $2000 signing bonus. Our mission is to make hiring, or getting hired, less painful.
How It Works
We are owners who are passionate about our mission
We set ambitious goals & drive toward results
We encourage constructive debate & unite behind our decisions
We test new ideas & take intelligent risks
We succeed by investing in our people
Hired Began its life as DeveloperAuction.com—an idea the founders dreamt up over Indian food, beer and rap music at an Irish bar in San Francisco in April 2012. The team expressed frustration about past dealings with expensive recruitment agencies, and contemplated that the most popular recruitment tool amounted to “shopping for a house using a phonebook.” The very next morning, Doug purchased the DeveloperAuction domain name and forwarded Matt and Allan the receipt. They got to work, launching the first auction during Burning Man, which netted $30 million in offers on 88 engineers.

I worked at Hired full-time (More than 3 years)
Overall, these were some of the most rewarding years of my career. Hired consistently gave me opportunities to explore new challenges, and pushed me outside of my comfort zone. There's a smart, driven team in place that allowed me to grow personally and professionally.
Hired is doing great work to help fix a very broken industry, and it's a nice bonus to see the impact that your hard work can have on individuals all around the world.
Like any startup, there's been bumps in the road, which has included some turnover across leadership over the last year to help correct for some misaligned hires. It's vital that employees take a step back and recognize that this is still a great company to work for and that these bumps are normal at a growing company at this stage.
Not a good environment for someone who isn't comfortable with change and taking ownership of things that are outside of the job description.
Advice to Management
Need alignment and inspiration from the new set of leaders. Continue to invest in your top performers and challenge them to grow and take on more responsibility as you take the company into this next chapter.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hired (San Francisco, CA).
Interviewing at Hired was honestly a breath of fresh air. There was a consistent theme of transparency from my first introduction, all the way through wrapping up the process. I had the opportunity to meet with a super diverse panel and left with a strong cross-functional perspective having met with people from multiple departments. Most importantly, each interviewer was well prepared for each of my interviews and asked more relevant questions that I've seen at any company. It is refreshing to see that even as you interview with people outside of the department you may be directly working on, each person had a clear understanding of what success looks like for the position.
I felt challenged, gained a comprehensive and diverse view of the role I was interviewing for, and walked away with an incredibly positive opinion of the company.
