I have been working at Hobbs Brook Management full-time (More than 3 years)
Benefits. 401K, medical and work life balance are outstanding.
Company values? At least as a lower level employee, there is no culture. I do my job and get paid, I'd be happy to be a part of a bigger picture but after a few years I've yet to receive the invitation. Many people at my level are forced to look elsewhere for a company offering more promise for a future.
Advice to Management
Take advantage of the experience of your staff. At the very least, give us an idea of the company's direction and introduce us to new managers. My experience is limited in length and scope, but from what I've seen, the hotel and conference center is a department battleground with little clear direction bordering on straight deception from management of what's really going on. No one wants to be a cog in the wheel and a company who treats staff as such will lose potentially great internally grown leaders.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hobbs Brook Management (Norwood, MA) in August 2012.
Front Office Manager is family oriented and doesn't have a lot of confidence in her staff, her job security or you. Prove you have experience and give the impression that you're a capable, flexible, and respectable worker and you have the job.
Don't get lowballed, raises are hard to come by here. Get the pay you want to start because its all % after that.
