Diverse responsibilities: From training and installation to repair and special projects, every day as a Hologic FSE brings new challenges and a wealth of rewards.

Development of universal job skills: You’ll develop such universal job skills as setting priorities, scheduling work activities, thinking analytically and solving problems on your feet — all in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment.

I have been working at Hologic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coming from a company where it was blatantly obvious that every decision was based solely on increasing the bottom line, it is such a nice change to be at a company where they truly care about their customers and the employees as well. It's a friendly casual working environment, which can sometimes be high pressure depending on what department you are in. The company grew very quickly and is still trying to catch up and fix many "mom and pop" processes that carried over from when it was a much smaller organization. The first month I started my small group was asked to have lunch with the COO, and then a month later the CFO and they really seemed to care about your concerns and were excited about the direction the company was headed. The divisional president at my location will even swing by once and a while to chat, which was unheard of anywhere else I have ever worked. My first year was pretty much spent fixing and updating things and I enjoyed the challenge. At least for the department I am in, they really like to promote from within and are interns who have risen up to directors. Upper management is also very transparent, and will explain difficult decisions and the reasons behind them.

    Cons

The company is still going through a little bit of an identity change after the Carl Ichan business and it can sometimes feel like it's the older employees vs the new employees, but most are coming on board.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and remember your employees keep the business going so don't forget them and get too focused on increasing the bottom line.
