Engineering at Honey
Our engineers help Honey build and deliver excellent, user-first software products On the Engineering team, we value problem-solving, collaboration, constant learning and curiosity about how things work. As part of the team, you will create solutions at scale, delivering high reliability, and an impeccable user experience.
Engineering teams at Honey
Here at Honey our Engineering teams operate as multiple cross functional autonomous development teams. Each of these cross functional teams, or “Mission Teams” is formed and centered around a particular discrete Mission. We have two types of Mission Teams:
1. Feature Teams which focus on a feature
2. Platforms Teams which build a platform for features

Product at Honey
The Product team’s role is to solve problems focused on user needs that help us achieve our overall mission. It is done by understanding the user and the market, creating value for users, merchants, and Honey and continually improving and expanding upon what we build.
Conceptually, Product teams operate as small startups doing work that is aligned with the overall company’s goals. Each team has a clear mission and a set of contracts with other teams around dependencies, inputs & outputs.

Our Internship Program
At Honey, we are passionate about helping you grow and get a running start on your career. As an intern, you will work alongside seasoned engineers on products that touches millions of lives. Our interns do work that's directly valuable to the company. You'll be integrated into a team and experience the same day-to-day of a full-time employee. You'll have a mentor that will guide you through your internship, in addition to the support of you'll receive from your manager and team.

As a rapidly growing company, we always have new, exciting challenges, which makes an excellent environment for learning. As a new grad, you'll be working at the heart of significant projects. If you are passionate about building software and solving hard problems, this is the place for you.

I have been at Honey for a year and have felt extremely fortunate to work for a company that has been challenging and fun and has no intention of slowing down.

Like many tech companies in the early stages, there is a lot of work to do and not always enough help at times. Having to balance work/life can be challenging at times but we always manage to push through it and get help in one way or another.
Advice to Management
Continue to listen to what employees are saying and make sure to be aligned with messaging and goals. It will be important to push the Honey brand and bring over seasoned veterans to help continue pushing us to the next level.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Honey in April 2020.
2 phone interviews and one Zoom interview with 4 people, including a whiteboard portion. Everyone that interviewed me was very friendly. The whiteboard portion was fairly easy and the interviewer in charge was knowledgeable. They got back to me quickly between each interview rounds and gave constructive feedback.
