Hopper – Why Work With Us?

Predict. Watch. Buy. Fly.

With Hopper, booking flights is just that easy.

What is Hopper?

Hopper is the award-winning mobile app that doesn't just let you book flights from your phone: It also tells you when is the best time to buy. No spam. No ads. No popups. No time wasted. Just the confidence that you're booking smart and saving money.

Here's How Hopper Works:

First, search for a trip by tapping dates on the color-coded calendar.

Then, get Hopper's prediction about when your flight will be cheapest. We'll recommend whether you should wait or book.

If we say WAIT, tap the binoculars to watch. Hopper will keep an eye on that trip for you and send you notifications the instant prices drop. If Hopper says BUY, choose your flights and book in just a few taps and a swipe. Save your passenger and payment info so future flight booking is even quicker.

How Hopper Does It:

Since Hopper launched, our data-science team has collected a huge historical archive of trillions of flight prices. We analyze that data to share with our users through insightful predictions that consistently perform with 95% accuracy.

Booking with Hopper is quick, easy, and secure. These flights are real. These prices are real. There are no hidden fees. Plus, Hopper is an accredited travel agency, which means there are real humans behind Hopper who can help you with your booking.

Why Work @ Hopper

Hopper's goal has always been to empower travelers. It goes beyond just saving money on flights (although that's a big part of it). We give our users unprecedented access to big data. We design thoughtful, award-winning mobile products. We offer a seamless experience before, during, and after our users travel. Every part of our business is focused on creating a world where everyone can fly.

Hopper learns and builds together. We've hired the most talented engineers, data scientists, marketers, designers, and leaders to accomplish these goals. But there's more work to do. More problems to solve. More travelers to inspire. And we'll need you to join us.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hopper (Tel Aviv-Yafo (Israel)) in May 2019.

    Interview

All remote (due to being in a different country) - started with a short automated online coding exam, followed by a human coding interview over video chat , followed by final 4 coding interviews over video chat.
    Then got an offer.

All the interview exam questions were high quality, seemed relevant, were challenging but not too difficult given enough thought and effort.

The entire process was highly efficient and flexible, and I had a person from HR accompany it in its entirety.
