I have been working at Houston's Restaurant part-time

    Pros

    Fun and insightful managers
    Team oriented
    Learned many new skills

    Cons

    The training process is rigorous
Impossible to get the biggest server sections because of people who have been working there for years
Certain side-works at the end of the night can keep you there for hours after the restaurant closes

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Houston's Restaurant (Paramus, NJ) in May 2018.

    Interview

I applied online through WorkPop. Immediately got an email from the manager saying she wanted to interview with me. During the rushed interview, she just spat out question after question asking me why I wanted to be a hostess, work for Houstons, etc. After observing the existing employees there, I quickly came to the conclusion that I was going to get it because my hair is curly and I dont “look” like what they are looking for. My advice is to future applicants is to observe who is working in the restaurant, you’ll know if they’ll like you....if the employees dont look like you, dont apply.
