This Company Encourages Female Employees To Brag About Each Other

For a woman my age, I'm pretty impressive: I was valedictorian of Georgetown University, I interned for Michelle Obama at the White House, I'm a Fulbright Fellow, I've worked at the UN, and now I run a nationally ranked women's program at a leading tech company. But, I'd never ever say that sentence aloud.

HubSpot – Why Work For Us?

About Us

Founded in 2006, HubSpot is an all-in-one software platform that aims to take a more human approach to marketing and sales. As the world’s leading inbound company, HubSpot’s award-winning software, services, and support help transform over 20,000 businesses in over 90 countries. With our easy to use stack of marketing, sales, and customer relationship management products, businesses can deliver inbound experiences that are relevant, valuable, and personalized. HubSpot is a mission-driven company focused on helping our customers, partners, and employees grow.

Our Culture and Philosophy

As a company, HubSpot was started to rethink how companies market and sell to match how consumers actually shop and buy. As a workplace, HubSpot set out from the start to create a workplace that matches how people actually want to live and work. We hire remarkable people and give them the autonomy to be awesome. We believe in radical transparency, so we share as much information as possible with every employee at every level. We care so much about culture that one of our co-founders codified our approach and it went viral. Learn more and read it all at culturecode.com.

Our culture is built to give remarkable people the autonomy they need to do amazing work and transparency to grow and learn every day. Flexible hours, unlimited vacation time, and tuition reimbursement that kick in on day one create an environment that balances freedom with accountability to an unprecedented degree.

While the atmosphere here is seriously productive, don’t be fooled: we don’t take ourselves too seriously. From company wide spelling bee’s to employee scavenger hunts, every day is unique. And with walls of snacks, a full-service coffee bar, and beer on tap, we’ve got way more than the basics covered. At the end of the day, however, it’s really our people that set us apart. As one employee wrote, “I love working at HubSpot because I'm inspired to work as hard and smart as my peers. The people I work with aren't coworkers, they're friends."

Internships at HubSpot
undefined

At HubSpot, interns aren’t interns in the traditional sense of the word. No coffee runs here. Interns make real decisions, produce real work, and drive real results.

  • HubSpot has internship programs during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters, as well as six-month co-op placements.

  • Each program is built to help our interns learn key marketing, coding, and business skills, and also take advantage of the the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a rapidly growing software company, while having some fun along the way, of course!

  • In fact, we invest so much in our interns that a large percentage of them go on to accept full time positions with HubSpot. Many of our team leaders today started as interns and continue year after year to develop their careers with us.

Start Your Career at HubSpot

We know you might not have it all figured out after graduation, but relax, you don’t have to!

  • At HubSpot, we welcome recent grads into a variety of roles and opportunities including, but certainly not limited to, internships, entry-level sales and marketing roles, product engineers, and technical support engineers.

  • For those who are passionate about marketing, we also offer a full-time marketing leadership rotational program that gives new grads experience in technical support and different sectors of the marketing team, eventually allowing them to settle where their interest and expertise most align.

  • Just because you begin your career with one team at HubSpot doesn’t mean you will be there forever. It’s just that, a beginning. Alumni of our entry-level roles are uniquely positioned to launch into different divisions of the company and have gone on to spearhead some of our most innovative initiatives to date.

Grow Your Career at HubSpotundefined

As we continue to grow and expand, HubSpot recognizes the need to involve individuals with tried and true management leadership experience at the highest levels.

I have been working at HubSpot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Autonomy: Being able to have your ideas heard and then given the space to achieve those ideas
    - Working culture: HubSpot is becoming known for our culture and having a culture where you can be yourself to achieve the most amount of success both personally and for HubSpot is one of the best reasons to work if not the best reason.
    - Flexibility: I have a family outside of the East Coast and being able to visit them and having my team and HubSpot understand that is a priority is amazing

    Cons

Currently, the only downside I see at HubSpot is that we are only located in the Eastern part of the United States which limits our ability to reach out in the States for other talent.

    Advice to Management

Finding other US based offices to spread our reach inside of the States.

    Customer Service Specialist Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Cambridge, MA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA).

    Interview

I applied back in May 12th 2017 via employee referral for the Channel Consultant role in Cambridge.

I was contacted my Noah Gilman 4 days after with an invite to a webcam interview where I record myself answering 3 questions with 30 seconds to prepare for the question and 1 minute to answer. I believe this was the biggest challenge in the whole interview process because of the pressure of not making a mistake since there is only one try per question. Because of the pressure I lost my train of thought in one but quickly recovered, its ok to stumble a bit, they know you are not a machine. Make sure you use the software's practice questions before taking the real questions. I was then contacted by Kelsey Freedman (she is the best!) saying that they believe I was a better fit for the Customer Support role (Spanish speaking) and continued the application process with her. She arranged a call to talk a little bit more about the role and asking a few questions on my background and my interest in Hubspot and the culture. Then I was given access to the hubspot software with 3 tasks to complete and 2 video interviews following on these tasks including a role play and behavioral questions the following week. Then I was contacted by Kelsey once again that I was moving on to the next round which was 3 interviews back to back with 2 managers and someone who has been in the role for 3 years. All of them really nice and down to earth people. I would also like to mention that they are very flexible with time slots, as I had to reschedule the in person interviews. They were all very accomodating (shoutout to Allie!) this is them preaching their culture and really is what makes them stand out! Then I got a call back from Kelsey that they wanted to make me a Spanish Quiz, it took them a few days to figure out the logistics for it, but it was a 30 min phone interview with a specialist from the LATAM department (the one I will be working in). The following day, I got an offer which I gladly accepted, I can't wait to start next monday which also happens to be my bday (Kelsey even offered to have something special for the occasion!) If I where to this again, I would 100 times, the whole process have been an amazing experience because everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and walk with you along the whole process. I would recommend applying to everyone!
