I worked at Hudson's Dirt Cheap (More than a year)
Working for this company was actually fun, they really stuck to the have fun at work moto. Not all companies that claim to do this manage to do so and remain professional at the same time.
The biggest downside to the company, at least the branch store that I worked for, is no set standard of operating procedures were given nor explained to its associates.
Advice to Management
Remain positive and upbeat but make associates aware of procedures and guidelines when they walk in the door.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Hudson's Dirt Cheap (Carthage, MS).
The interview was a quick process, around 10 min.It took place in the office with the store manager and her assistant. Together they explains the process to be hired and then what my job responsibilities would be once I started. Informed me of minimum hours they had available and that at times I would get more for filling in for call ins
There was no negotiation.
