OUR APPROACH

We are perhaps best known for creative, equity-building “big ideas” that drive earned media coverage and social conversation, inserting brands firmly into the lifestyles and playgrounds of their target consumers. Hunter’s approach begins by identifying the intersection between our client’s communication objectives and the current cultural conversation. In this sweet spot, our “big idea” creative platforms are born. We bring these “big ideas” to life through our expertise in media and influencer relations and experiential and social/digital marketing to create award-winning programs and executions that earn consumer attention. I have been working at Hunter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I made an unexpected career switch to PR and was worried about taking an entry-level position at this point in my life. I could not be happier about where I landed. I learn something every day, I am surrounded by people who are industry experts and I feel heard when I speak up. The low turnover rate here is a product of a supportive, creative and flexible work environment. Sometimes communications companies are their own worst clients but HUNTER does an excellent job of clearly communicating expectations and I always feel privy to what upper mgmt is up to, to an appropriate extent. I am excited to grow here and know, should I ever choose to leave, I have the best possible PR foundation.

Added bonus, there is always tons of food in the office.

    Cons

There is always tons of food in the office....

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hunter.

    Interview

One of the best interview processes I've experienced. The process took about 3 weeks. First round was a phone call with the Recruiting Manager and we chatted about my interested, briefly about my experience, what I was looking for post-grad, etc. Felt more like a conversation than an interview with the recruiter really focused on which area at Hunter would be a best fit for me rather. Then I had a phone interview with the account team. Again, very conversational but a bit more about my former experiences. Then I took a written test (included a press release, media list, media clipping) and then was asked for references before being offered the position. Overall, there was constant communication throughout the process and appreciated the transparency regarding timeline, next steps, etc.
