Our Philosophy

At Hyatt, we care for people so they can be their best. Care comes from a place of empathy and authentic human connection. We do this by truly seeing people and getting to know them as unique individuals, so we can design and deliver personal experiences. This is about all the PEOPLE we interact with everyday, including colleagues, guests, owners, operators, community members and shareholders. BEING YOUR BEST is about being your authentic self in each moment— engaged, fulfilled and ready to take on the world.

Our values of respect, empathy, integrity, creativity, humility, and fun are an important part of our culture—guiding our behavior—and help us individually and collectively to create an environment where our colleagues can be their best and where they can help others achieve this as well. That is why we—every individual at Hyatt—hold ourselves to a shared set of values, and the behaviors that make them real.

You'll enjoy equal parts rewards and recognition

Hyatt's worldwide recognition and rewards programs will vary depending on the country. Local benefit packages will be offered for those hotels outside of North America.

We embrace the diversity of those who deliver our promise every day. Our hotels employ the following initiatives for colleagues:

• Recruiting, retaining and developing high-performing, talented and engaged colleagues with
diverse backgrounds and perspectives

• Educating, advocating and communicating in order to foster an inclusive, engaging culture and work environment

• Creating opportunities that help our colleagues maintain a balanced lifestyle with experiences designed with self-improvement in mind

• Engaging our colleagues with development programs, learning tools and informational meet-ups that connect them with each other. These initiatives offer colleagues around the world a chance to learn something new and find opportunities to better themselves as well as their futures.

One way we demonstrate diversity and inclusion is by recognizing, respecting and celebrating differences.

I worked at Hyatt part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was a very peaceful workspace didn't have to deal with alot I had my rooms that I worked on as a team an some by myself but still worked hard an always did the best I could best thing would be the Costumer's would leave me tips an donuts candy sodas they really made me feel great that they were pleased with thier room service.

    Cons

Coming to work being optimistic walking in to the girls an this stale feeling in the air from most of the woman there constantly unfocused on work an talking behind each other's backs I was a beginner an given a hard time from people who have been thier for way longer than me even when doing a great job I never really got told by the team just the customers.you are expected to do a lot in a very short time you won't get a chance to take your break the girls help each an will leave the work on you when you're supposed to be working together no team work.

    Advice to Management

Try to get some new people in there that won't carry that toxic attitude around running good workers off an fire the old ones.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hyatt.

    Interview

I applied online and received an email for a follow-up assessment. Once that was completed, I received a phone call to schedule an interview not much soon after. I spoke with an extremely nice man who explained the job and asked me some clarifying questions as he went along such as "does this sound like something you'd be interested in doing" etc, After that he went over my resume with me, asked questions about my work experience, and asked why I wanted to work for Hyatt. We spent the next 15 minutes answering questions that I had. The whole interview in total lasted a little under 30 minutes. Right after, I got an email about paperwork (which I believe he sent too early but was my biggest clue I had gotten the job). About 2.5 weeks later I got a phone call saying they pushed back the training date and offered me the position.

My advice: do your research on the company! This way you are prepared with questions for the interviewer. Also, pay attention when they are speaking!! My interviewer mentioned key points that I picked up on and was able to ask questions about later. I'm now in training and love every minute of it :D
