I did learn some new things I might be able to use in the future. The technology is great and has a lot of promise.
The owner I reported to didn't know how to do business with large corporations. He was constantly cutting corners that lead to problems. The company is so small they had employees wearing many hats. For example, the plant manger had to mow the grass, as well as trim trees and clean the bathrooms, and anything that needed to be done at the facility. They misrepresented themselves in the interview, by presenting literature that claimed they could recycle all base and precious metals. They were only set up to reclaim palladium on non-carbon supports as it turned out, resulting in a very small universe of customers.
Advice to Management
They need to treat their employees like human beings, not robots that can do an unlimited amount of work. They also need to train employees in areas in which they have no experience, not expect them to 'just learn it from the internet".
I applied online. I interviewed at IBC Advanced Technologies (Cleveland, OH) in February 2012.
Was quick to get a call back. Everything went smoothly. Not a drawn out process.
