Health, Dental & Vision Plans
We have a superb and affordable Employee Benefits Program. The Company pays for the vast majority of your health care costs (Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental and Vision Plans). Benefits begin on the first day of your employment in most countries.
IGT provides financial reimbursement for eligible adoption expenses incurred in excess of the IRS credit, up to a maximum of $6,000 per child following the adoption.
Employee Assistance Plan
The Employee Assistance Plan is provided by IGT for employees and their families. This national program provides information, referrals, and short-term counseling for problems affecting either your work or personal life on a strictly confidential basis. As a member, employees have access to assistance from highly experienced counselors 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
Onsite Daycare Facility
The Company provides onsite daycare (Reno) and subsidizes the cost to employees. Employees with children, from 6 weeks to 12 years of age, have found this to be a wonderful benefit.
Saving money is important and, preparing for retirement is essential. Contributing to the 401(k) part of the Plan provides you with an immediate and long-lasting advantage. Employees can contribute to their 401(k) account on a tax-deferred basis after having completed 30 days of employment. The Company supports employees' participation through a matching formula.
Profit Sharing Plan
Profit Sharing expresses the value we place in employees. Based on profits, the Company has the discretion to make an annual contribution to an employee's 401(k)/Profit Sharing account. This contribution is based on business unit profitability and vests over time, and the percentage is allocated evenly among all employees.
Employee Referral Program
Employees are encouraged to participate in IGT's referral bonus programs by recommending qualified candidates for positions open within the Company. Current IGT employees who have referred applicants (who are subsequently hired to fill the eligible positions) will receive the appropriate referral bonus.
Educational 529 Plan
The Educational 529 Plan is provided to employees as means to help them save for their children's or grandchildren's college education in a flexible and affordable manner. The Plan allows employees to make post-tax contributions, while deferring federal income tax on earnings.
Fitness Center & Wellness Programs
IGT provides a fitness center in Reno, NV, Las Vegas, NV, Providence, RI & West Greenwich, RI and has wellness programs for all of its employees.
All fitness facilities are complete with lockers and showers. They are equipped with treadmills, stair masters, exercise bikes, and elliptical machines. In addition, they also offer dumbbells from one to one hundred pounds, as well as numerous resistance machines.
There is also an internal website that focuses on Fitness, Health, Nutrition, Wellness, Fitness & Wellness Incentive Programs, and includes links to other helpful websites. Various group exercise classes are offered to IGT employees on-site. The classes include Yoga, Pilates, Self-Defense and Circuit Training Classes. Offsite locations are also able to participate in incentive programs via the Intranet site.
IGT was recognized as a 2007 Start! Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association for all the health programs it offers its employees in the Reno and Las Vegas offices.
IGT believes in promoting from within and has established an Internal Promotion/Transfer Policy that offers employees the opportunity to apply for positions that they are interested in and qualified for. Job openings will be posted on our Applicant Tracking System. Internal applicants will be given preferential consideration if they apply within the first five (5) days of posting. Our offices in Providence, West Greenwich, Reno and Las Vegas all offer full-service, on-site cafés that serve up a variety of delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Items offered include fresh prepared-to-order salads and deli sandwiches, house-made soups, hot entrees, gourmet pizza, stir-fry and pasta specialties, grilled hamburgers and paninis and house-made desserts. Our cafés also have self-serve salad bars.
For most employees, Vacation Time is a granted of hours provided at the beginning of each year. All regular, full-time and part-time employees who work at least twenty (20) hours per week are eligible to receive Vacation Time according to their standard hours of work. All regular, part-time employees who work less than forty (40) but more than twenty (20) hours per week are eligible for a prorated amount according to their standard hours of work. You receive 120 hours at the time of hire and accrue more through years of service.
Regular, full-time and part-time employees who work forty (40) hours per week will be provided with 40 hours of sick time at the beginning of each calendar year. Regular part-time employees working less than (40) hours per week but more than twenty (20) hours per week will receive a prorated amount of sick pay according to their standard hours of work.
IGT offers eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year. It is not unusual for the company to declare additional paid time-off to recognize its employees' extraordinary contributions. In addition to the eleven paid holiday, employees also get two (2) float holidays.
IGT encourages its employees to develop their skills and continue their learning by providing financial assistance through the tuition reimbursement program.
Onsite Training Center
Continuing in the view of our employees making the difference, IGT is committed to their development. Our in-house staff sponsors training and development programs aimed at giving employees tools and learning experiences that stretch and maximize their capabilities.

I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at IGT (Warwick, RI).
My case is probably not typical as I was referred directly to IGTs (formerly GTECH) logistics manager by American Power Conversion (APC) for my entry position of export administrator . The interview questions by GTECH Logistics were strictly regarding my experience with transportation and US Customs. The logistics manager then referred me over to GTECH Human Resources who agreed with the Logistics Manager's assessment and added additional information such as GTECH's benefits and Code of Conduct.
