I have been working at IMS Consulting Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - flat organization: seniors are easy to talk with and are pretty involved in projects, so you can learn a lot from them and can get their advice easily
    - responsibility: you can gain a lot of responsibility early on, something you can't get as easily at other firms, Associate Consultants through Senior Consultants (depending on size and complexity of the project) lead project management, day-to-day client communication, and storyboarding
    - projects: projects are very diverse and clients are top 10 pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, etc; questions being answered in projects are interesting and relevant (pricing, strategy, due diligence, forecasting, market access); projects are often global in scope which you often can't find at other niche life sciences consulting firms
    - people: the people here are very smart, nice, and help each other out; it is a supportive group who actually enjoy spending time together
    - development: there is a lot of support for you development, making sure you can work on different projects and with different people to learn different topics, therapy areas, and working styles; lots of training opportunities; more responsibility when you are ready for it so you can develop as a leader and manager as well
    - while you can work a lot depending on project and time of year, very flexible culture so you can work from home as needed or come in later if you are here late getting something out to a client

    Cons

    - multiple project staffing model can be a benefit as you can work on more projects and gain broader experiences, but it can be tough to manage when your two projects are very demanding, both require on-site presence, or deliverable timelines line up
    - compensation can be pretty varied within the same role, but this is something that management says they are working on now that the merger has happened
    - personally feel that pros outweigh the cons and that there are cons at all organizations, but I've stayed here because of the people, interesting work, and ability to take on responsibility early

    Advice to Management

Continue hiring new people to help balance work load, reevaluate compensation within the same role

Pharmacy is thinking of putting DVD kiosks in their stores. Is this a good idea? What factors would you look at? Followed by a profitability question. Wanted to know pros and cons of the venture. This was a first round interview question.
