As private companies, INVISTA and other Koch companies are able to focus on maximizing long-term value in everything we do, because we are not distracted by the need to meet short-term quarterly earnings projections and stockholder demands. In addition, our historical shareholder practice of reinvesting as much as 90 percent of earnings has created the financial strength necessary to grow and diversify.
By working for INVISTA, you are also working for Koch Industries, so your opportunities for growth, career path and locale changes, and advancement extend to all of Koch’s businesses around the globe.
You’ve heard the brand names: LYCRA®. STAINMASTER®. COOLMAX®. THERMOLITE®. You know them and use them everyday. Every company has a distinct way of doing business, and INVISTA is no exception. We apply a unique philosophy called Market Based Management® (MBM®) that encourages our employees to think and act like owners of the company regardless of their position. The MBM® Guiding Principles we practice are the foundation for encouraging a results-oriented culture inclusive of:
We practice a pay-for-performance approach to compensation. Your total compensation is based on your total contribution to the successful results of the company. We do not utilize pay scales or pay grades that are typically based on years of service and job title to determine the value of your contributions. Our approach to compensation allows us the flexibility to differentiate and reward our top contributors based on their results.
When our management and compensation philosophies are aligned, our employees have a unique opportunity for personal fulfillment with INVISTA. We want all employees to realize their full potential by having room to innovate within their positions and be rewarded for their contributions. Since we are a large, multi-national organization, the opportunity to be exposed to challenging work for individuals and our company as a whole is virtually limitless. We feel this can be accomplished by:
I have been working at INVISTA full-time
People are great! MBM values - not flavor of the day.
No real 'perks' - like casual Fridays, 9-80s, etc.
I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at INVISTA (Victoria, TX) in June 2017.
Applied online and got a call from HR about a week later. Did a standard phone interview which lasted about 15 minutes. Then another week later I had a phone call with the hiring lab manager which also lasted about 20 minutes. They then scheduled me for an on sight interview immediately afterwards. The interview lasted about 3 hours and I spoke with about 6 people. It was a little intimidating but they asked the same questions which were all behavior based. They focus a lot on Market Based Managing. Overall they were very polite and professional. The only issue I had with was that it took over 3 weeks for them to contact me and to tell me their decision.
