    Pros

Similar to starting own business at low cost. Able to learn more about financial products and insurance. Good training from partners. Able to know more about the country's financial situation.

    Cons

Purely commission based income. Even though the management said a basic will be given, we have to close some cases before it is given. It is also not a basic, but upfront commission. Usually, candidates are only able to meet those requirements at about 3 months in, which means that they will have no income for at least 3 months.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear and transparent toward candidates about what to expect in the company. Also can consider having a 3 month compensation during training, as not everyone can cope with no income for a prolonged time.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IPP Financial Advisors (Singapore (Singapore)) in July 2014.

    Interview

I requested for the job through a group advisory partner who was also a friend. The interview revolved around assessing your ability to build rapport and establish a connection in the shortest amount of time, and also to ascertain the depth and width of your existing network. IPP has high standards for its employees in the areas of job competency and ethics, hence the interview questions were engineered to measure those parameters.
