Research & Development

Our R&D team is the heart of IPsoft’s innovation. Its mission is two-fold: to invent breakthrough cognitive solutions and to create cutting edge automation technologies. R&D Engineers develop our artificial intelligence agent, Amelia, and our service platform for IT management, IPcenter.

Cognitive R&D

Our Cognitive R&D division develops Amelia, our cognitive agent. This team of scientists and engineers builds machine-learning-based models of language and dialogue that facilitate the communication between humans and cognitive agents. They tackle the big challenges in Natural Language Processing and deep language understanding, and they’re passionate about writing code to implement advanced ideas in artificial intelligence. By helping Amelia better solve users’ problems, they aim to provide the best possible experience for the end user.

Software Engineering

In the R&D world, speed and quality are sometimes two competing factors. On the one hand, there is the sprint to delivery – and on the other hand, there is the standard of excellence. Our Software Developers balance the need for speed and functionality with their commitment to quality. As we expand our autonomic platform, IPcenter, our developers work closely with our automation engineers to drive efficiency for today’s digital enterprises and service providers.

Automation Engineering

Complementing our IT Operations staff is our Continual Service Improvement, or CSI, team. This department is comprised of automation engineers, who identify and remove process inefficiencies in day-to-day work and develop respective automation. They implement improvements that ultimately make an impact on client and internal systems.

IT Operations

Our infrastructure operations teams are responsible for day-to-day operations and also take on the project-level work. Their areas of expertise encompass domains including Network, Database, Windows, UNIX, Applications, IPT, Service Desk and Security. Engineers at all levels are strongly encouraged to identify new ways of increasing automation for our customers and partners.

Technology Implementation

The technology implementation teams are comprised of engineers and project managers ultimately responsible for deploying and implementing our solutions for our clients and partners. They are organized into Service Technology, Service Design, Service Transition and Service Optimization groups. These are the people who are responsible for areas such as solution architecture, service transitions, change processes, performance engineering, infrastructure design and more. All operations are aligned to ITIL best practices for managing and delivering IT services.

CRM, Marketing & Sales

Our global sales team focuses on growth and business development, both directly and through our partners. They work in close collaboration with our marketing department who ensure our message reaches all our stakeholders. Customer Relationship Managers (CRMs) are the liaisons between clients and IPsoft engineers. CRMs act as the primary port of call when clients need to escalate an issue, seek advice, request a change, or inquire about any other matters.

Training and Development

Our training department empowers employees and the general public through professional development programs. The training team manages IPuniversity, our platform for instructor-led, virtual and self-paced learning in IPsoft technologies, professional development and IT technical skills. The department is developing an IPcenter certification program that will be open to employees and IT professionals.

Internal Operations

Our Human Resources, Finance and Legal teams are responsible for the behind-the-scenes functions that keep IPsoft running smoothly. The HR team recruits and retains new employees, administers benefits, handles employee relations and manages staff programs. The Finance group manages billing, payroll, procurement and vendor and customer inquiries. The Legal division handles commercial contracts, intellectual property, corporate governance and employment law.

    Pros

    Opportunities and challenges are both in ample supply at IPsoft, giving plenty of opportunity for career advancement.

    Cons

    Bonus structure could use refinement. Once a month payday takes getting used to initially but with discipline and proper budgeting it becomes second nature.

    Application

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IPsoft (New York, NY) in March 2017.

    Interview

    HR reached out to me from LinkedIn to see if I am looking for another opportunity, they did a brief presentation over the phone about the company and a little bit about the position, I was scheduled with a Phone Interview which was only 30 minutes long, Consisted of getting to know me and my experience and asking any questions about the position. I then was forwarded to in person interview (I was notified of the in person interview in less than 24 hours) The in person interview was nice. I met with HR for a little bit and then had my official interview. The official interview was very easy, He didn't have many questions for me, as he wanted to know my questions and explain better what his immediate need was for this position which would be a variety of tasks.
