“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
― John Holmes
As the holiday season begins, many of us here at IQPC begin to turn our focus to those who are less fortunate and organize charity initiatives to help warm the hearts of those who need it most.
One of our most popular initiatives in the office is donating non-perishable food items to the many New Yorkers who struggle to get a meal every day. The holiday season and eating well go hand-in-hand, and we believe that no one should have to go hungry during such a joyous time of year. So, we have food bins displayed in our reception area for anyone who has canned food or other non-perishable items to donate.
We encourage our employees to contribute what they can; even one can of food goes a long way to lift the spirits of someone that needs something to eat. It is a great way to give to a charitable cause that goes to good use!
We feel an obligation as New Yorkers to give back to our community in a meaningful way, and hope our efforts are able to help as many people as possible.
Veteran programs and initiatives are topics that hit close to home for all of us at IQPC, especially within our defense division, http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQufs. Not only do we employ a number of veterans and active service members, we have deep business ties to thousands of companies who work within the military industry. These ties were formed through the multiple conferences related to military issues we host every year.
This year, we participated in the #22PushUpChallenge, and as you can see we had a great time doing so! AND we raised over $500! The money will be donated to http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQuf7, an organization that works to raise awareness to the veteran suicide epidemic that is plaguing our country, and educate the public on PTS and other mental health issues. While it is impossible to put a price tag on how we repay those who have given so much, we hope that all of our efforts can help to make a difference for our veterans!
At IQPC, finding and nurturing talent is serious business. We take pride in employing people who live life to the fullest; self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a flat non-hierarchical environment where opportunities for further development are theirs for the taking.
Regardless of whether you are in production or sales, marketing or event management we want people who are hungry for knowledge. People who are curious, adaptable and thrive on change. Above all else we want people that care about delivering a quality product that makes a difference; to each and every client and industry we serve.
At IQPC we are passionate about driving business transformation. The shock waves caused by a single great event can change a person’s career, a business or an industry.
Since we started in 1973 our industry has changed dramatically and every day our customers become more discerning. To add value a conference must go beyond great content; now interactive formats, structured bench-marking and the facilitation of ongoing digital communities all need to be added into the mix.
When matched to clients needs our product can help develop partnerships, manage enterprise risk, interpret and explore disruptive technology, develop new strategies, advise purchasing decisions and so much more.
At IQPC we love to learn. Our business is 100% driven by knowledge creation.
Our purpose is to bring senior executives together to share ideas, benchmark strategies and ultimately drive change for themselves, their companies and their industry. So everything we are, everything we do, reflects that.
Building a career at IQPC doesn’t have to be straight road. Some of our talent pick a function and stick to it, becoming experts in their craft. Others journey through a variety of departments and both paths create equal business value and personal growth.
But the one thing we do believe is that regardless of what profession you choose, passion will always define success. At IQPC we promote based on merit not longevity so choosing a role that matches your values, your purpose, well it can make all the difference to you and to us.
So the ultimate question is “what are you passionate about doing today?”
Life in our industry is fast paced and competitive. It takes enormous amounts of hard work to deliver exceptional quality events and our teams take pride in consistently rising to that challenge.
I worked at IQPC full-time (More than 5 years)
IQPC offers many opportunities for those with a strong work ethic and passion for sales. This is a great place for entry-level sales people to develop their skills and seasoned professionals to join senior teams. You will be walked through everything (CRM best practices, sales templates, objection training, etc.) in detail. Management strives to set everyone up for success through onboarding and ongoing training.
Success is rewarded with promotions to senior teams and opportunities to take on more responsibilities. There are also opportunities to transition to other departments such as marketing or production after getting a good sense of the industry and finding your passion.
IQPC offers a great work-life balance but you need to be self-motivated and okay with a fast paced environment.
Friday happy hours and lasting friendships are common because of a younger workforce full of amazing and personable people.
Your direct manager will always go to bat for you and have your back.
Base salary can be higher but additional compensation opportunities are always being implemented.
Advice to Management
Focus on rewarding and retaining good talent.
I applied online. I interviewed at IQPC (New York, NY).
Overall process was speedy, took about 2 weeks. 20 minute phone screen with Recruiter. 1 hour phone interview with hiring manager in overseas office. 2 hour in person interview with 2 hiring managers.
