Culture and environment are second to none. Strong strategic leadership. Management cares about employee well-being, satisfaction and advancement - work/life balance is a part of the philosophy. Advanced level training made readily available. Strong technological and process driven structure. Excellent pay and benefits for employees, strong work and dedication is rewarded with strong opportunity for growth. One of the top agencies with a strong Client base, lots of growth and challenges.
Parking if I could complain about anything - there's a medium-ish sized lot that is based on seniority, the rest park in the surrounding residential neighborhood. It's a short walk, could be worse.
Advice to Management
Thank you for creating a wonderful and professional environment which has helped me flourish and advance my career in a top class organization. Oh, and keep the new summer half-day Fridays going forward!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Icon Media Direct (Van Nuys, CA) in March 2014.
Applied on a wednesday online. Heard back on friday from a third party HR manager asking if I would be available for a phone interview with her on Monday. Interview on Monday went well and she forwarded my information to Icon's internal HR Manager. Had a phone interview with two department managers on Tuesday which also went well. Heard back on Wednesday about coming in for an in person interview, as well as a skills test on Thursday. Went on Thursday where I was time-tested on my knowledge of Excel, Pivot Tables, Powerpoint, and Word. The testing took two and a half hours to complete. After the tests, the Hr Manager reviewed my test scores and informed me I passed. Met with the same two department heads as I spoke with before and spoke for about 45 minutes regarding my fit for the position, my interest in the company, more explanation about what the position entails, and when I would be available to start. Was told I would hear back by Wednesday about their hiring decision. Wednesday came and went without a word. Emailed HR on Friday asking for an update and was told they would be searching for other candidates.
Went through all their phone interviews, took a day off work to complete their skills test, and they didn't even have the decency to inform me of their decision until I asked. All this for a position that only pays $30,000 a year.
