I have been working at Idealist Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've never had a true weekend until I started working here. The office culture demands performance during the week M-F 9:00-5:00pm but affords time to really unplug evenings and weekends.
There is also a strong learning culture. I've grown professionally, attending conferences, training and webinars during my workday.
And at the end of the day, we are working to improve mission reach for many amazing and inspiring organizations.

    Cons

We are a small company with big brand reach, so our core team has to be really agile. Managers are still contributing. This doesn't have to be a con, but it's important for prospective employees to understand - if you are looking for a clear, standardized growth and development path to be curated for you, this probably isn't the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to lean into the pros and cons of being a small team and plan where they can but remain flexible when they can't.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Idealist Consulting (Portland, OR) in October 2011.

    Interview

The initial interview was conducted over happy hour which was a nice change of pace and a very comfortable setting to talk and get a vibe for my fellow co-workers and the company atmosphere.

    Negotiation

I did not negotiate the offer.
