The IEC family invaded Funworks again for our Annual Family Picnic. This year we had about 150 people show up to have a BBQ dinner, play in the arcade and brave the heat to ride the go carts and play miniature golf. This event is an employee favorite because there is something fun to do if you are a kid or a kid at heart. Funworks brings out the kid in all of us!!
IEC's Employee Net Promoter survey is complete for the 3rd Quarter. Our Employee Net Promoter Score is 60 which is world class! We will be working on the feedback given by the employees. 72% of the feedback was positive and 21% included constructive feedback that leadership will be working on to make improvements. Thank you everyone for your participation and input! We Care, We Listen, We Keep Our Word.
Industrial Electrical Company has been in Modesto since 1935 when Walt Schenewark started the business. It has always been family owned and operated and our employees feel they are part of the IEC family. We have employees that have been with the company from a few years to over 50 years! It is this family experience that helped shape our Core Values
Of course, we are not perfect here and we make mistakes. What's important is how we handle the mistakes, what we learn, and how quickly we get back into relationship with each other. Even though our company is several decades old, we understand we must continue to innovate and grow. From 1998 to present, the company has increased it's revenue more that six times! People are our greatest asset - whether employee, customer or vendor - because without the people this is just an empty building and a bunch of equipment.
There is opportunity for growth. There are many examples of employees starting in an entry level position and moving on to become a salesperson, manager, or vice president of a profit center. In 2006 a generator salesperson was hired and in ten years he became the Chief Operating Officer.
When a new employee completes their first thirty days of employment, they receive a 30 Day Feedback Form. We want to understand how they experienced our organization's culture during the interviewing, hiring and onboarding process. One of the questions asks, What makes Industrial Electrical Company different from other employers? Consistently we are told many variations on the following quotes:
"I feel like the company truly cares about the employees"
"Everyone is friendly and makes me feel right at home"
"People are approachable and always ready to help"
"I truly feel that I'm part of the team"
Come check out Industrial Electrical Company if you'd like to work at a place that treats you like family!

Each quarter we ask our employees to complete the Employee Net Promoter Score Survey. This quarter, 86 employees completed the survey and the comments fell into 18 separate categories. We divided the comments into encouraging and constructive categories and here are the results.
72% of the comments were encouraging. See the graph above to see where our employees think we are doing well.
28% of the comments were constructive. See the graph below to see where our employees think we need to improve.
Since improving benefits is the category with the most concern, we are gathering facts about employer benefits in our area to show how our benefits compare with other employers. Stay tuned for the results!
Industrial Electrical has a heart for giving to those in need. We like Ronald Regan's quote - "We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone." Our employees are generous and often times help us decide where to make charitable donations. Historically, we've given to the Salvation Army, Red Shield to teach children to swim, Shelter Cove's Vacation Bible School, Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, American Legion to benefit wounded warriors, Institute of Principle Studies who aims to teach people the proper role of government, Operation Christmas Child, and when one of our employees recently passed away we gave to the Victim's Advocacy Center of Stanislaus County. We have given to needy families in our community and held food and clothing drives to donate to the Modesto Gospel Mission. It is our priviledge and responsibility to look for ways to make a difference to others through financial donations. Let us know if you have an idea to give back and we will consider it.
Industrial Electrical wants our employees to make small choices to live healthy lives. We encourage our employees to:
We have an after work horseshoe competitions, people who want to sign up to play golf at different courses three months in a row during summer, MB2 racing competition, winter bowling, a Heart Walk in September, Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving and a Holiday Hold 'Em weigh in to curb that November/December weight gain to a minimum.
I have been working at Industrial Electrical Company full-time (More than 5 years)
The leadership has a great attitude, consistent world class employee net promoter score, and a great employee culture. Truly, a healthy company. This organization is family owned which makes the entire company feel unified whenever I get an opportunity to work with other members in different departments. It is an exciting time to be serving on this team.
The culture used to be resistant to change, but I can see evidence that symptom is beginning to change within the organization now.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Industrial Electrical Company (Modesto, CA) in June 2017.
Was contacted by VP of HR about a job opportunity after sending in my resume. Was invited to the office to speak to VP of Sales and was offered the job after a 45 minute conversation.
