    I have been working at Insight Technology full-time (Less than a year)


    Compensation and paid time off is fair and average for the industry, but far from any union rates.
    Many opportunities for immigrant and disabled workers at this location.
    Hard working employees.
    All the products are very interesting and serve a purpose.


    Most atmosphere is tense; not a family culture. Cliques and separation between upper management and the people below, lots of people from different backgrounds and several different product lines add to this separation.
    Many very hard-working individuals who do put in a lot of long hours but, lack some technical skills because the company does not develop their employees.
    Not much emphasis on values or any golden rules other than, the quality policy posted above the time clock and the annual ethics training.
    Definitely lacking transparency. Organizational changes, managers dropped into foreign territory shakes things up.
    There are some short-sighted or rude supervisors and managers, who seem to feel they have immunities.
    No prescription eyeglass or safety shoe benefits.
    9/80 schedule, but a lot of employees are required to work the off Friday, and then Saturday and Sunday too. However, overtime is gladly worked by many employees.
    HR is only as good as the leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Take a few ideas from the big conglomerates to create a value driven culture. Consider educating employees through a development program.
    Educate supervisors and management to respect their employees.
    Definitely educate all employees about the company and it's products through some classroom time; everyone will begin to identify issues rapidly and quality will increase substantially.

    A Two hour interview showing me the environmental lab and the calibration room led to an offer within a week. The casual yet professional attitude of everyone involved was refreshing.
