Time Off Policy

Our policy is....we have no policy! With respect to sick and vacation time, we take a lenient approach; as long as you, your team and your manager are on the same page with what needs to be done, we let you work out time off with your team.

Want to avoid rush hour? Have a doctor’s appointment? We understand, and relate! A happy and productive employee is one that has a great work-life balance.

Lunches

We have lunch ordered Monday - Friday. The selection changes daily so there's no getting tired of the options. Want to get out of the office for lunch? There are many tasty options on California Ave. which is only a short walk away.

Fully Stocked Kitchen

Need a caffeine fix to get started in the morning, or to get over the mid-day hump? There's an espresso machine, a touchscreen coffee machine with tons of options, cold brew, and just plain ol' coffee in our kitchen at all times. Our stocked kitchen includes everything to meet your healthy and sometimes indulgent snack needs. 

401K

Eager to start saving for retirement? No need to wait! Instart matches up to 4% of your pre- and post-tax 401k contributions! 

Health Benefits

We pay for 100% of the monthly benefits premium for full-time employees, and 80% of the premium for your dependents. Insurance coverage begins on your start date. There are four medical plans to choose from through Anthem BlueCross and Kaiser Permanente. Dental coverage is through Guardian Dental and Vision insurance is through VSP. 

Life Insurance

We understand the worry that comes when you have a family and how they would be taken care of if something were to happen to you. At Instart, we offer a core Life/AD&D plan as well as a voluntary life/AD&D plan. 

We take care of our Employees

Short and Long Term Disability Insurances are provided at no cost to employees, and will replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury for more than 7 days.


Employee Assistance Program is provided at no cost to employees and their dependents: resources address areas of education, dependent care, legal/financial, lifestyle/fitness, and career development. Flexible Spending Account offers a convenient way to pay for out of pocket medical, dental, vision, and dependent care expenses pre-tax. 


We also pay up to 12 weeks of salary and benefits continuation for all new moms as well as 6 weeks of paid parental leave!

Sumit Dhawan, CEO 

Sumit is a seasoned executive with a proven track record of establishing market leadership positions. Sumit has led multiple $1B+ enterprise software and SaaS businesses with responsibilities in managing P&L and all functions of the business from R&D to sales. With expertise in creating new market categories; Sumit brings a proven leadership approach that results in top-performing teams.

Prior to joining Instart Logic, Sumit served as the general manager of the end-user computing business at VMware. Prior to VMware, Sumit served at Citrix, where he held a number of executive roles – across engineering, product development, marketing, corporate development, and general management – and was a key contributor to Citrix’s growth from a private company to the publicly-traded, multinational business that it is today.

Sumit holds an MBA from the University of Florida – Warrington College of Business, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, and a BS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology.


Hariharan Kolam, CTO and Founder

Hariharan is a co-founder and CTO of Instart Logic and is responsible for focusing on long-term innovation and competitiveness. Previously, Hariharan was a senior engineer at Aster Data and worked on all features across the entire development stack, ranging from the kernel to the BI application layer (distributed workload management, backup, and data re-partitioning services). Prior to Aster, he was part of the Solaris Cluster group at Sun, where he contributed critical modules of software responsible for high availability on Solaris zones. Hariharan has an MS in Computer Science from Stony Brook and a BS in Computer Science from NIT Nagpur, India.


Jony Hartono, Chief Financial Officer

In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Jony Hartono leads multiple functions including financial management, accounting, legal and human resources, and office operations. He provides operating and guidance around performance measurement and is part of the senior team leading the company in rapid growth in the digital experience market. Prior to Instart, Hartono served as CFO at Capriza, VP of Finance at MobileIron -- where he was instrumental in their successful initial public offering (IPO), and VP of Finance and Corporate Development at SGI and Rackable Systems. He has also served as an advisor at multiple start-ups. Jony holds an MBA in Finance from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business. 


Mitch Parker, Chief Customer Officer

Mitch Parker is a technology veteran and entrepreneur with experience architecting and building new businesses, processes, and products. Mitch held a broad range of leadership roles at Citrix over 15 years, including leading Product Groups and Technical Services. He led the team that architected and launched Citrix Cloud. As head of Citrix Services, he more than doubled revenue and introduced several core services helping customers and partners reap value from their Citrix products.

Mitch has also held roles in channel programs, sales operations, field readiness, and consulting services. Prior to Citrix, Mitch was a consultant with Innovex Group and Accenture. Mitch is an avid app developer, college football fan, and family man. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.


Samrah Khan, VP of Business Development

Samrah is responsible for all Business Development and Partnership functions at Instart Logic. Prior to Instart, Samrah was with MuleSoft, where she was responsible for Strategic Global Partnerships that focused on driving channel revenue via sales and services. Earlier at MuleSoft, she also focused on alliances for go to market of joint MuleSoft cloud solutions with ISV’s. Before MuleSoft, she spent 7 years at TeleNav that went public in 2010. At TeleNav she held variety of client facing roles ranging from technical sales to business development that focused on large Telcos and OEMs in the mobile space. Samrah has a BS in Computer Science from Santa Clara University.


 

Seema Desai, VP of HR and Talent

Seema is a seasoned human resources executive with over 20 years or HR and talent management experience. Seema has extensive experience across industries including e-commerce, healthcare, ocean robotics, data virtualization, and identity management. For the past twelve years, Seema has built world-class talent functions for venture-backed companies. Before joining Instart Logic, Seema was at data virtualization startup Delphix, backed by Greylock Partners and Lightspeed Ventures. Seema holds an MS in Clinical Psychology from San Jose State University, and a BS in Psychology and a BA in Human Development from the University of California, Davis.

    I have been working at Instart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    From the very beginning, I've felt welcomed among my peers at Instart. There's definitely a culture of inclusion and really easy going people who are pleasant to work with. It's rare to find a place where work/life balance is valued and actually enforced.

    Cons

    There are a few kinks to work out (typical of any growing company) in terms of org structure and process, but I feel optimistic about the growth and future of Instart.

    It was a well organized interview. The interviewers were very nice. They were on time and asked good questions. They also provided hints if I got stuck. Eventually we solved the problem by end of the interview.
