Has anyone ever loved someone terrible? The problem with loving such an individual is that even though I don't want to love this person..with every fiber of my being rebelling against the idea..every ounce of logic..every instinct against...at the end of the day I just can't help it..love has the upper hand and its going to have its way..so I think..it must be love..it has smashed every boundary..every shred of common sense..this love business is real motherfucker and is so because it's genuine

    I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Instinct (Saint Louis, MO) in Sep 2022

    Interview

    Probably my favorite interview experience I’ve ever had. The interview process with Instinct is clearly designed to see if you’re highly qualified, but most importantly their aim is to see if you’re a cultural fit. Each interviewee was transparent, respectful, and showed genuine interest throughout. Step 1: Discussion with a recruiter about Instinct, the role, and other initial questions. Be prepared to fill out a questionnaire that includes specific behavioral based questions and be thorough. Show that you genuinely care about answering each question and use quantifiable data points to support your stories. Step 2: Interview with the hiring manager, likely via Teams. Have plenty of examples to answer a few behavioral based questions using the STAR format. I made sure to have 5-7 stories that could help display primary principles and behavior patterns that would likely be asked. Step 3: Interview with another team member within the Supply Chain team, along with a member of senior leadership. These will be back to back interviews. Again, I had prepared additional quantifiable examples and came with a lot of questions about Instinct, the role, future headwinds, etc. Step 4: If all goes well you’ll be lucky enough to take part in a cultural interview. This is the first time I’ve ever had an interview where they make a point of determining cultural fit. They truly want to make sure you fit the team which made the role and company even more exciting to me. Again, very kind and transparent interviewer. That’s it! It may seem daunting, but if you’re qualified and have true enthusiasm for the role and bettering the lives of pets, the process can be seamless.

99% of all pet food & treat packaging goes to the landfill each year, according to Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC). That’s a whopping 300 million pounds! 😮 At Instinct, we’re dedicated to sustainability, including reducing our packaging waste; by signing the PSC Packaging Pledge, we’re committing to having ALL Instinct packaging be recyclable by the end of 2025! ♻️ Thank you to PSC for spearheading this initiative and challenging the pet food industry to be more sustainable. Upon signing the Packaging Pledge, Instinct CEO Neil Thompson said, “A rising tide raises all boats – the tide is rising, folks. I hope that many more will now follow us from the scene we’ve set.” We’re proud of fellow pet industry companies who have made this pledge with us, and we hope there are many more to come!

Instinct is focused on a sustainable future with the construction of our brand-new, state-of the art, raw pet food production facility, the Center of Excellence. This expansion of our Lincoln, NE, company-owned manufacturing facilities is designed to be LEED certified, bringing leading sustainability practices into the facility. Our goal is for the Center of Excellence to have a net zero carbon footprint. 🌎 The expansion is expected to be one of the few LEED Certified pet food manufacturing facilities in the United States, along with the excellent Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification Instinct already holds. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Gray Construction to see this project come to life!
