I worked at Intact full-time
The people are great and the culture at the company is also really great. The company is very much oriented to making an impact on the community and also having social events to keep their employee's engaged.
Very limited room for growth. If you are good at what you do they want to keep you in that same position. Management varies across the board, there are some managers that really want to help you but for the most part its a lot of yo working hard and taking on extra projects but little to no recognition.
Very low pay, if you're looking to make good money, turn around and look somewhere else, it won't happen at Intact.
Advice to Management
If you want to keep your employees happy, promote based on their personal track record and what they bring to the table not on who is more likely to kiss up to the managers. There are great employees at the company stuck in positions they are over qualified for.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Intact.
The position I applied for was supposely available in Montreal. It was not the case because at the end of the process they told me that I would need to travel 1-2 days per week to St-Hyacinthe. Too far for me and it was not written on the job description. HR was all mixed up with too much people involved in the recruiting process.
At the first interview, incompetent IT manager who knows almost nothing about technology (don't know what is an Android app or ERP system).
The 2 last managers who interviewed me were more competent, but they had too much attitude stating they are the best in IT and that they will compete Google. I really think they are far. Although, the interview with the HR consultant was better.
Reasons for Declining
Too far and too much attitude stating they are the next Google in IT.
