I have been working at Integral Ad Science full-time (Less than a year)
As a relatively new hire, I have been nothing but impressed by the company so far. Benefits are good, the office is great, people are very transparent with sharing information, self-motivated, highly competent yet modest. A senior staffer I spoke with recently said that it was a good place to be if you are a good person to seek out and find solutions to product gaps. The processes here for coordinating the work of MANY engineering teams simultaneously are better than any I've seen in my last 15+ years of experience in product/R&D.
It could be argued from the above that if you are the type of person who needs very clear direction and oversight on a daily basis (aka micro-managing) this might not be the place for you. Not a true con in my eyes.
Advice to Management
If you can keep this culture of autonomy and trust alive, that would be a great thing. So far it seems the company is doing a good job of navigating the next round of changes (the acquisition by Vista and the arrival of a new CEO).
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Integral Ad Science (London, England (UK)) in March 2017.
Headhunted on Linkedin. Initial call from HR/Talent Scout: basic questions, what type of work you're interested in, background experience, what you know about IAS
Invited to in-person interview at the office with two team leads: a lot of questions! Really getting to know what you are like to work with as well as what you can offer to them with your experience
Next was an interview with the hiring manager. 1:1 interview asking similar questions from the initial interview and seeing if you're really fit for the team.
Then a final video interview with VP of Professional Services in NY. Much more relaxed than expected which was nice. I think it's really nice that she wants to get to know all potential hires before going forward with it.
All interviewers were highly professional and intelligent and took the time to answer all of my questions at the end.
They also made clear what is expected of the role and how the office culture is.
Had a great time meeting everyone + was offered the position, can't wait to start :)
This was done by HR. I just stated a range I expected. i didn't really negotiate after the verbal offer was made, I was too excited!! And it wasn't lower than what I expected or anything.
