    Average Interview

The interview process was quick. It started with an e-mail from the Director of HR asking for my salary expectations and confirming my willingness to perform some of the tasks associated with the role. This wasn't abnormal - I understand wanting to clarify deal breaker issues before moving on in the process. Then, we moved to a phone screen, again with the HR Director. The screen asked basic screener questions and also asked, again, the same questions that I'd already clarified in my e-mail response. The next step was a values survey and filling out a career history form. After that step, we moved to an onsite interview with the HR Director and another employee. The interview was spent going through every role on my resume and asking what I did and learned in each role. Some of the roles were positions I'd held 10+ years ago and had no relation to the role for which I was interviewing. It felt like a scripted interview lacking in thoughtful questions about a candidate's experience and what they'd bring to the table. To top it off, I was again asked the same questions we'd already discussed in our initial e-mail exchange, which at this point just sent the message that he didn't feel I'd been honest. Overall, the interview felt like a process the company just needed to get through, rather than a thoughtful interview experience focused on getting to know a candidate's skills and experience.
