I worked at Ippudo NY full-time (More than 3 years)
Fun, fast paced place. Cool people and fun customers. Pay is also decent. Scheduling was very forgiving.
A lot of weird Japanese ideas of how to run American business. Training period was a bit racist.
Advice to Management
Be more American minded. Your restaurant is in America.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Ippudo NY (New York, NY) in June 2012.
I submitted my resume to an email address and received a phone call asking to schedule an in person interview. The process overall was very easy and straightforward. They want previous experience in the hospitality industry, The interview was not formal at all and occurred during their break hours. Not sure if it has changed recently, but I cannot imagine it has gotten super complex.
