I worked at Iron Ore Company of Canada as a contractor

    Pros

Worked for this company for four summers. Great pay, plenty of overtime, opportunity to learn a lot depending on where you are placed. Very safe environment

    Cons

Some of the jobs were very mundane and seemed almost meaningless. If you are more introverted, it can be slightly stressful at times eating lunch with large groups of people who all seem to love to socialize.

    Advice to Management

Overall, this way a great experience. The opportunity to see the inner workings of an iron ore mine, while working shoulder to shoulder with employees with upwards of 35 years experience is invaluable. I would recommend this company to anyone.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Iron Ore Company of Canada (Halifax, NS (Canada)).

    Interview

After applying to the opportunity through the online based board ran through the school, potential candidates were notified and scheduled for a interview over the phone. The interview was conducted with two engineers that worked at the company in a professional yet comfortable/informal manner. Potential offers were sent out after the one phone interview.
