I have been working at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals full-time
Company is mature enough to have robust systems in place but still entrepreneurial allowing you to have the ability to make direct and (somewhat) immediate impact on the business if you want it. Rarely do I encounter someone with a big ego, on the whole, people all chip in to get the job done. Company culture is strong and people walk and talk the values every day.
Sometimes reaching a consensus in group decision making processes is not as crisp as it should be. There is at times some confusion over who owns the final decision which just draws out the overall decision making process.
Advice to Management
Benefits offerings could definitely be improved. In order to stay competitive with the industry and other companies in Cambridge, a company-wide policy on flexible work arrangements (i.e. work from home days) should be implemented. This is being done by individual department/managers but in order for it to become normalized, I think a formal policy is worth it.
The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals.
HR phone interview, Hiring manager phone interview, and then 30-45 min interviews with about 8 people onsite. They ask typical situational questions and then a series of technical questions. They got back to me with the status within 1 week. Overall, very cordial interview process.
