Great energy in the store, great co-workers, 25% discount that can be combined with coupons, fairly decent job as far as "RETAIL" goes.
As with all retail environments: messy coworkers, lazy coworkers. That's about it. Everything else is great. I love my job @ JCP!
Advice to Management
Hire better talent. That's about it. I have no complaints. JCP has been go to me personally. I can't speak for others.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at J. C. Penney (Gadsden, AL).
I went to the website applied online. The very next day I got called to come interview. I talked to the manager that was in charge of hiring, and she asked me very easy questions. She hired me on the spot and introduced me to a couple of other managers that happened to be outside the office. Overall, it was a very easy interview with simple questions. I started that next week.
They only pay minimum wage if you don't have retail experience. Therefore, you cannot negotiate. I have heard of others negotiate if they have previous experience.
