I have been working at J. Jill full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, flexible schedule and easy to ask time off. Also clothes is very nice and having older customers makes your day better...

    Cons

Making sure the store makes money. "Sales" if not, hours can be cut and not enough payroll for the week! Very stressful each week opening store cards and making store plan for the day. Working at a small boutique can be a challenging retail environment.

    Advice to Management

Have a resolution for managers to answers questions and reply email back and store manager needs to work on doing better "set" schedule.... everyday is different and you never know what time you need to come in.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at J. Jill (Providence, RI).

    Interview

The whole process took about a week. I applied online and was contacted by phone to schedule an interview a few days later. The interview was pretty short. It was around 10 minutes. It was a very easy interview and I was offered the job on the spot. However, I still had other interviews scheduled and wanted to explore my options further. I ultimately accepted a different one. I wouldn't have minded working there though.
