I have to jump in and comment - the whole Glassdoor thing is very new to me, but a friend pointed out a couple negative reviews when "checking Jasper out" so I felt like I should post. Jasper is the leader for IoT, one of the hottest areas to be in, and has grown dramatically over the last few years. The potential of this company is even more enormous, and the folks (especially the senior management team from what I can tell) are very focused on what this could mean - it seems quite exciting. Naturally there is talk about going public, but that's to be expected - however, it's viewed as a milestone, not the end-game. The "imagine where we can be in 5 years" is the most fun conversation, and something the CEO frequently talks to in all-hands meetings. I'm not sure what is meant when the negative reviews say "the execs are tired" and so on. From what I know of Jahangir (the CEO, and founder) he's always talking about long-term. Look at the website, many of the top execs have been at Jasper less than 2 years and obviously came here from great companies, due to the potential. The complaints seem petty to me, and maybe they're mostly ex-employees. As example - if the free food isn't to your liking, than fine don't eat it, but hey it's free. I personally eat lunch each Tuesday, and it's nice as many people gather in the large kitchen/connected patio and talk/connect. Career-wise, many people here have taken on new roles, moved across departments. If you can get your foot in the door here and make a difference, you won't regret it! The bottom line is that many, many companies in Silicon Valley would love to trade places with Jasper...
Not so much a con as a warning - t's still a startup mentality - so don't apply if you don't want to bring your A-game and work hard/smart. So it's probably not for everyone - if you're a new hire that's hoping to coast you won't be happy.
Advice to Management
Might need to continue ensuring everyone gets the bigger picture on the potential?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Jasper.
Phone screen with recruiter and hiring manager, followed by onsite. Onsite interview involved multiple rounds on Data Structure, Algorithms, Multithreading, Java, Databases and also coding test to finish on the spot. Nothing out of ordinary.
