I worked at Jefferson County Schools (Colorado) part-time (More than a year)
The field of work was good, exciting, and unique. It was fun working with the kids. The schedule is ideal for a high school or college student.
There was not much opportunity for growth. The rules and regulations often seemed counterproductive or unnecessary. there is a lot of petty hierarchy within the entire district and that becomes apparent in every sub career branch.
Advice to Management
Offer more space for a creative environment. Kids are only kids once! The reason many people take jobs within the district is to positively impact the lives of these kids forever and grow their brains to full capacity, not leave them stunted in their growth. Also, Cindy Stevenson isnt the superintendent anymore.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Jefferson County Schools (Colorado) (Lakewood, CO) in September 2013.
Hiring process is specific. It is short and concise mainly because you will have to be dedicated to taking this job, if your not you'll never make it through training.
