To recruit and keep the top talent, we've designed a flexible and comprehensive employee benefits program with your individual and family needs in mind. This program includes:

Compensation

At John Muir Health, we believe in building strong patient and community relationships that last a lifetime. To cultivate those relationships and deliver the high quality health care we’re known for, we rely on our greatest asset: our employees.

We know that California draws many skilled and educated people to live and work here. To attract and select the best employees, we offer very competitive compensation packages based on the most current salary rates for the San Francisco Bay Area.

A human resources representative provides details about salaries during interviews with prospective employees. Compensation and benefit packages may vary depending on the position you’re applying for or by collective bargaining agreement. For answers to questions about compensation, please contact us.

Rewards and Recognition Programs

Your compensation is more than just dollars and cents to us. We believe the hard work that you put into our success every year should be recognized and appreciated.

To help our organization reach its goals and share in our financial rewards, we've created a number of different incentive programs for employees. These programs include:

  • Public recognition and monetary rewards for exceptional work over the course of the year
  • Formal dinners and gifts to celebrate years of service
  • Success sharing through cash bonuses
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • Cost saving and increased revenue cash awards

Commuting and Parking Benefits

Our commitment to the health of our patients and to our employees is a part of everything we do. At John Muir Health, taking care of the environment around us is as important as taking care of the people who walk through our doors.

To help promote a healthy environment, we offer a variety of benefits to encourage employees to choose alternative methods of transportation to and from work.

Recognized by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U. S. Department of Transportation as one of the best commuter workplaces in the nation, our goal is to help reduce traffic and air pollution by providing employees with these benefits.

Commute Solutions Program

This program incorporates commute subsidy alternatives such as:

  • Subsidized BART and bus tickets
  • Subsidized carpool and vanpool programs
  • Special parking considerations for carpools and vanpools
  • Taxi service to and from the BART station for employees
  • Incentives are offered to employees taking commute alternatives as well as to employees who use designated off-site parking.
  • Designated bike racks and lockers are available for employees who choose to bike commute.
  • Employees are also eligible for partial reimbursement of other applicable commute-appropriate transit passes, such as WHEELS from the Tri-Valley to Walnut Creek, Solano BART Express from Vacaville, BayLink from Vallejo/Benicia to BART and other transit options such as Amtrak.

At John Muir Health we believe our success is your success. We want to ensure that all the hard work and achievements of our employees pay off — and that means your retirement should be as stress-free and financially secure as possible.

To reward the service and dedication our employees show us and the community we care for, we offer comprehensive retirement and post-retirement benefits. These benefits include:

  • Early Retiree Medical Benefits (age 55 - 65)
  • Retiree Health Savings Plan Benefits (for retirement after age 65)

    Pension Plan

Note: Benefit packages may vary depending on your job or collective bargaining agreement.

Flexible Work Schedules for Retirees

We value the experience that comes with age and encourage our older employees to continue providing us with the talent we need to thrive as an organization. We offer reduced, flexible work schedules to employees who are retired or retirement-eligible but who still want to work. For more information, contact human resources.

Retiree Health Savings Plan Benefit

Through this benefit plan, John Muir Health makes contributions to an account that an employee can use to pay for health care expenses once they have retired. The longer the employee stays with John Muir Health, the more contributions to his or her account. This program complements other John Muir Health benefits the employee has, including the Pension Plan and 403(b) savings plan account.
